Description
A menage of wildfowl seeking a spot in open water on frozen Lake Ontario for a paddle. They literally were waiting their turn to jump in. It's so incredible to be there and watch their antics, pecking order and hear the loud honking and quacks. This site at LaSalle Park and volunteer naturalists have provided food and care and been instrumental for the Trumpeter Swan (black bills) and have brought them back from near extinction. This image contains Mute Swans, Trumpeter Swans and Mallard Ducks.

Nice image Barbara, looks like the swans are wearing their boarding passes. Waiting for the next flight out.

Oh my thanks quite a congregation of followers you have captured Barbara. I see we share a favorite spot for photography. Perhaps we could arrange to meet sometime.
Barbara McMahon replied:
Thank you Shelley. Definitely a great place to capture waterfowl. Cold and icy in the winter but a huge variety of waterfowl.

Very interesting picture!!! V
Barbara McMahon replied:
Thank you very much Sergey! It's so much fun to be standing beside them but it's also really slippery and one could easily end up in the icy waters with them. A telephoto would help....lol
