Great perspective, Barbara... I love how it looks like rock and how you framed the ocean with it. Beautiful...vf

Barbara McMahon replied:

Thank you Barbara. There actually is a spectacular rock formation on your west coast that resembles this scene. One day I'll make it back to take a proper image.

Artist's Description

One may think this is a wonderful rock formation through which we can peer to the sea. Rock it is not. The sea and the sand are present. This was an amazing find during my long ago trip to Newfoundland. I stumbled upon this scene by accident down a deserted road on the west shore. Walking along the shore by the salty ocean I noticed something sticking out of the sand. Being of a curious nature, I started to move the sand aside and eventually uncovered Moby. Moby, is a Blue Whale vertebrae. Approximately 18 inches high and 24 inches long. What an incredible find! The enormous size of Moby certainly gave me an idea of the overall enormity of the Blue Whale.
Please view my image entitled "Moby" which will give you an idea of the scale of this vetebrae. Thank you for viewing. Barbara McMahon
