Description
Castilleja coccinea, commonly known as Scarlet Indian paintbrush or Scarlet painted-cup, is an upright, hairy, 1-to-7-decimeter (3.9 to 28 in) tall hemiparasitic plant. The stem is usually unbranched and rises from a basal rosette.
While driving to see the Cape Croker lighthouse in the Bruce Peninsula on a gravel deserted road, the roadsides were covered with a blanket of Indian Paintbrush.

Very pretty Barbara! Great DOF with the hints of scarlet in the background and like how you've filled the frame with the flower in the foreground.

Thank you Bianca for your generous comment. I found a stretch of deserted road that had a "stand" of Paintbrush. The difficulty was the incessant wind and trying to catch one in focus.
