We should all be so blessed! Good to see some actually do mate for life. Lovely capture of what it is all about - IMHO.

Barbara McMahon replied:

Thank you Broken Soldier! It certainly has been a long and happy love affair. Gives one hope!

Barbara, so happy to hear they are still enjoying life to the fullest. We could certainly take a page from their book, truly an inspiration to us all!

Beautiful photo,beautiful story...luv this!

Barbara McMahon replied:

Thank you Sue! Four years have passed since I captured this image. Mrs. still hikes in the valley 2 hours every morning. Mr. now uses a walker and like clockwork, 10:00 am every morning walks the neighbourhood for an hour. This couple are an inspiration to the entire neighbourhood!

Barbara, Fantastic photo that is like a photo journalistic shot that could tell several stories. Excellent details and great capture of the colors in the trees and the leaves on the ground. This photo has such great depth as you don't know where that path is taking you to. Great emotional feel to this wonderful photo also. Excellent photo, fav, voted, google promoted and selected as my CAT for MOUSE pick of the day

Thank you so much Pedro. This couple and their trusty German Shepherd hike in the same area as I. One of these days I'll be able to "upgrade" my equipment and really honour such a scene.

Absolutely lovely image, Barbara! Hoping I'm going down this same path with my husband, Jack, when we are eighty-four and eighty-six. One of the most beautiful and inspiring photos I have ever seen...thank you. v/f/pif

Thank you so much Ann! This couple are an inspiration to the entire neighbourhood. They have always had a German Shepherd who accompanies them everywhere. They have not seen this photo yet. I will print and frame it for them. Thanks again!

Barbara... I can sooo relate to this wonderful picture! There are many potential stories in this incredible capture and I paticularly love the mist at the top of the path...as the elderly couple make their way towards it. Great job! v/f

Barbara McMahon replied:

Thank you Catherine for your lovely comments. The couple are actually my neighbours and we crossed paths on the trail last week. She with a recent knee replacement egging on her husband with creaky knees to keep going.......and they are....84 & 86 years old! I think they are an amazing couple and an inspiration to all. Thanks again! Barbara
