Description
This lone canoeist emerged from a heavy bank of fog on Pog Lake in Algonquin Park, Ontario, Canada. Only the gentle J-stroke of his paddle broke the silence. About an hour later this young man approached me on shore and said he could see only his own reflection while on the lake. He could not see the land nor trees or me. He remarked it was an incredible experience. It also was a magical moment for me as I watched his misty figure emerge from the thick fog.

Contest PEACE: Congratulations on your third place !
Barbara McMahon replied:
Thank you Anna! When I viewed this canoeist, it was around 6:00 am. ABSOLUTE SILENCE. ABSOLUTE PEACE. All seemed right with this crazy upside down world of ours. My wish is for this feeling of PEACE to spread far and wide, to heal the wounds, assimilate the differences and calm the masses. Mankind is too precious to be treated with such disrespect. PEACE TO ALL!

Barbara McMahon replied:
Thank you Jack for your kind comment. This image is exactly as shot. I felt no editing was necessary. I cannot remember now, but I may have cropped the original a little bit. Sometimes we just get lucky!
