Description
After driving for 1-1/2 hours on a one lane, twisting gravel road that followed the Georgian Bay coastline, I finally reach Cabot Head Lighthouse. Built in 1896, this window looks out onto the rugged shore and waters of Georgian Bay. It is very remote an inaccessible in wintertime. The lighthouse keeper and families spent endless isolated months keeping the lighthouse operating to ensure the safety of those on the waters. Thank you for viewing. Barbara McMahon

Thank you very much Kaye for your generous comment! It's lovely when someone sees what I saw. This is actually the first of many staircases to a remote lighthouse (Cabot Head on Georgian Bay).
