Description
The Flying V guitar is a favourite for heavy metal lovers. This image of the Flying V strings is perfect for a pairing with my Flying V Skulls image. A one of a kind gift for the heavy metal lover or guitarist to add some "Rockin' Metal" to their studio or music venue.
My son-in-law Philip purchased this guitar when he was 16 years of age. He is a self-taught guitarist playing both acoustic and electric guitars. During his University years he played a number of gigs and opened for some fairly significant metal bands such as Buckcherry (big hit of their's was "Lit Up", Shocore (hit was "Bonecracker". He made some modifications to the original guitar by adding a set of active EMG 85/81 pick ups and Spirzel machine heads.
Now Phil is a 36 year old husband, father of 3, and a Regional Manager of a major banking firm in Canada. But when he gets home, he trades his suit in for his metal garb and he plugs in and rocks!
The Flying V was played by famous musicians such as Jimi Hendriz, Jim Martin, Lenny Kravitz, Zakk Wylde, Randy Rhodes and Albert King.

Les Palenik
Very appealing view of the guitar that goes well with the B&W look. /vg
Barbara McMahon replied:
Thank you Les! The guitar is primarily silver and black so I only needed to B&/W the background.
Louise Peardon
Love this imaginative, appealing view! Lucky you to have such talent in the family!
Barbara McMahon replied:
Thank you Louise for your lovely comment! Yes indeed I am lucky. My family's musical abilities range from professional opera singer to heavy metal guitarist! Despite the differences in genre, music has brought great joy into all our lives. The universal language....music....that brings people together is a wonderful gift!
