Description
After driving for 1-1/2 hours on a one lane, twisting gravel road that followed the Georgian Bay coastline, I finally reached Cabot Head Lighthouse. Built in 1896, this window looks out onto the rugged shore and waters of Georgian Bay. It is very remote and inaccessible in wintertime. The lighthouse keeper and families spent endless isolated months keeping the lighthouse operating to ensure the safety of those on the waters. Thank you for viewing. Barbara McMahon

Barbara, your stark, rich capture of this Georgian Bay window is phenomenal! Gorgeous color palette! Fav/g+/Tweet!
Barbara McMahon replied:
Thank you Rahdne! I'd like to go back one day and visit on a sunny day. I think it might still look bleak. :)

Ohhhh what a beautiful sight ! I think you must have enjoyed the view sooooo much dear Barb !!!
Barbara McMahon replied:
Thank you Michel! The view was beautiful but there was an eeriness to the building. However for $350.00 I could stay for a week and be the Assistant Lighthouse Keeper and work as a guide for visitors! I think I was the only visitor that day....lol. It would be a long, long week!
